Dr. Ben Shepherd has been working on trade policy since late last century, and founded Developing Trade Consultants in 2009. He believes that good research--whether in economics, political science, law, or another relevant discipline--is crucial to supporting better trade policymaking around the world, particularly in low and middle income countries. Promoting this virtuous cycle, and the desire to bring together a wide range of people working on trade policy, served as the impetus behind the Trade Policy Research Forum.When he's not crunching numbers and writing reports, and absent social distancing, Ben enjoys live theater and music, novels, trying new restaurants with friends, travel, and taking long walks with his dog, Jalfrezi.
